Three Parish cycle ride proves a great susccess!

The three parish cycle ride took blace in brilliant sunshine on Sunday July 20.
Some 40 cyclists of all ages started out on the seven mile cycle ride from Trekenner CP School (Lezant Parish) to South Petherwin CP School (South Petherwin Parish) and finished at Tregadillett CP School (St Thomas Parish).
The event was organised jointly by Sharon Chinn (PCSO) and Phil Parson (South Petherwin Parish Councillor).
The objectives were to enable the children from the three schools who had completed their 'cyclewise' (ages 10-11 years) or 'Wisebikes' (7-9 years) to gain some practical highway experience and to encourage cross Parish working and encourage parishioners to enjoy cycling within their own locality.
"As a multi agency event this was a great success, with children and parents, governors and a head teacher along with councillors, helpers and police taking part."
All children taking part were presented with a medal and a certificate of achievement.
All that went on the ride wanted to do it again. Cllr Parsons was delighted with the number of parents and children who turned out on such a sunny day. He added " This was perfect weather and the route was not too difficult but challenging for all ages, which made for a wonderful day out in the countryside".
Both Sharon Chinn and Phil Parsons wished to thank the schools, tescos, St John Ambulance, the parish councillors, county council and Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.
Special thanks also went to PC Matt Kingdon for all his help and assistance on the day.
