A little about the area

Plymouth Devonport is based at the police office in Marlborough Street. It covers the areas of Devonport, Ford, Keyham, Morice Town and Stoke.

Devonport is mainly a residential area with a strong sense of community and local identity. The area developed to serve the Devonport Naval Base, the largest military port in western Europe.

It has a population of approximately 27,000 the majority of which resides mainly in a mixture of social housing and Victorian terraced housing.

The area is undergoing an economic transformation through the New Deals for Communities programme.

Substantial government and private investment is going into Devonport to provide new housing, social facilities and employment opportunities. This in turn will have a ripple effect.

The police, in partnership with the community, have an important role to play in ensuring the area is safe to live and work in.
