Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton
Tony Commerford Sector Inspector Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton
As the Inspector for Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton I am responsible for the day to day delivery of policing in the area.
We have a dedicated Neighbourhood Team with both Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers dedicated to small geographic areas. The neighbourhood officers work closely with local councillors and other key community safety partners to identify and resolve local issues. Through their work they help reduce crime and disorder and increase the feeling of safety for their communities. The team is developing PACT panels (Partners and Communities Together) in each of their areas. These panels consist of statutory partners and community members. Their role is to improve consultation with their community to identify and address those issues having the greatest impact on their quality of life.
Also working from Exmouth is the Patrol policing function, which consists of dedicated teams of Police Officers providing 24-hour cover all year round. These officers respond to those incidents where immediacy is of paramount importance.
We also have a dedicated team of investigators working within our CID office. These highly specialised officers provide quality investigation of those offences having the most profound effect on victims.
It is my intention to maintain and improve upon the already high standards set by the Officers at Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton and for the area to remain a safe place to live. I aim to improve the level of policing service provided locally via reducing crime levels, improving our detection of reported crimes, increasing public satisfaction and improving the visibility of the local police service.
