Inspector Toby DAVIES
Hello, I am Toby Davies the Sector Inspector for Barnstaple. I have worked in North Devon for the last 9 years as a Sergeant in Ilfracombe and Braunton, and for the last 5 years as the Barnstaple Inspector. I live locally with my wife, a school teacher, and my two young children. When not at work I try my hand at most sports and enjoy outdoor living.
My aim is for local people to feel confident that they are safe and that Barnstaple Sector is a safe place to live, work and visit.
There have been some real successes in reducing the already low levels of crime and anti-social behaviour experienced within our policing area. There isn’t room for complacency and where problems do exist we will continue to work hard in further reducing crime and detecting offences when they do occur.
The visibility of policing within the sector has been enhanced by the growing numbers of police community support officers and an active special constabulary who are able to target some of the anti-social and nuisance type behaviour still being experienced within some of our communities. This success cannot be achieved without working closely with our partner agencies and local people, so we will continue to build on the strong relationships already in existence within many parts of the sector.
I also know how important it is for local people to influence how we police their local area and we will work hard to ensure you have an opportunity to have your say. Whilst I recognise that it is no comfort for those who have been effected by crime or disorder, remember we do live in one of the safest areas of the country and with your help we intend to keep it that way.
