    About Your Neighbourhood

The area itself is quite large and is flanked at the top by Great Hill Road and at the bottom end by Hele Road. Barton Hill Road and Coombe Lane run down each side to enclose the patch. The majority of properties in the area are owner occupied but housing is also provided by Riviera Housing, Westcountry Housing and Sovereign Housing. There are three schools on the area and all of these are located in Moor Lane. Barton Primary School actually comes under the area of Shiphay and the Willows, although the name does not suggest this. My colleagues and myself are always available and we have several means of contact. On the Watcombe area we have the advantage of an office, which is located on the roundabout at the entrance to the estate. We may sometimes be found there but if we are not in attendance then a message can be left for us. It is also worth noting, there is an advice surgery held here on the first Thursday of every month from 10:30 until noon. A Riviera Housing Trust representative will also be available at this time. There is also a monthly surgery for Barton resident’s which will be held at the Acorn Centre. Times and dates for this will be updated shortly. There are also bi – monthly community partnership meetings that we attend where we aim to deal with issues on the area. The issues raised are created by you, the residents, but we area keen for further input in this area. I will update this further at a later date but more information can be found about the community partnerships by looking at Torbay Councils website.
