I am your Neighbourhood Beat Manager for Ellacombe.

I joined Devon and Cornwall Police in 2009, transferring from Northumbria Police where I served the population of South Tyneside.

I am originally from the South West and was brought up in North Cornwall and Plymouth.

I look forward to meeting you and discussing any problems you may have.

Anti Social Behaviour-Market Street

You Said: 18 Aug 2010

There has been an increase in reports in recent weeks on Market Street and Ellacombe Park regarding noise, drinking and possible drug activity.

So far we have:

A Police problem solving plan has been put in place to report any further incidents of a similar nature and for the Police to be able to monitor the issues as they arise.  There has already been and will continue to be an increased Police presence in the area.  If you witness and problems of a similar nature please do not hesitate to contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team on 08452 777 444 quoting reference number FT/10/5733.

ASB - Ellacombe Church Road

Community Partnership meetings and police patrols have identified anti-social in this area.

So far we have:

Regular high visibility patrols in the area, identification of those involved and action taken to prevent re-occurence.We have continued to put foot patrols in the area and hav stop checked a vaired amount of youths and have engaged with them by speaking to their parents and informing them of their actions.

Anti-social Behaviour - Youths

You said there was too many youths hanging around on Ellacombe Church Road, Hoxton Road and Victoria Road.

 

So far we have:

We are regularly conducting Police Patrols in the area, both on foot and in vehicles. We are visiting all licenceing premisis in the area trying to tackle under age street drinking.

Street Drinking - Castle Road

You Said: 13 Jul 2010

There has been many occasions where street drinkers have been reported drinking and causing drunken and roudyness on Castle Road. Where members of the public have felt intimidated or scared by their actions.

 

So far we have:

We have identified this issues and have made all patrol cars aware. There is regular foot and vehicle patrols in the area and a alcohol ban extension is under review to include more of Castle Road. We stop check offenders in the are, some have been arrested due to their actions and some have been removed from the area.

    About Your Neighbourhood

    Ellacombee This area is mainly residential with a small number of local businesses. In terms of properties, there is a mixture of privately owned multi occupancy accommodation and high proportion of rented accommodation, which means there is a high turn over of new residents in the area.

    Housing associations also provide accommodation for a percentage of residents in Ellacombe. There is a varying age range in residents in Ellacombe from young to elderly. There are two primary schools on the beat, Ellacombe Church Primary and Babbacombe. Westlands Secondary School is just off the beat but a school where the majority of teenagers from the patch attend.
