Your Beat Manager

Dave Thomas

I am PC Dave Thomas and I have been a Police Officer since 2003.  I am Torbay born and bred with many family links in the area.

Though I am new to this particular beat, I have worked in Brixham for 2 years, and I am now looking forward to serving the community in the St Marys and Higher Brixham area.

I hope that you will take the time to contact me or any of the team to make sure we are working for you.

Active Priorities

Our top priorities for your neighbourhood are as follows:

To reduce incidents of Anti Social Behaviour

You Said: 1 Nov 2009

The public of Brixham was surveyed during the months of Novemebr and December 2009 and they stated their wish that Police prioritise their work to reduce Anti Social behaviour at Brixham

So far we have:

Work will continue with regard to effective engagement with young persons and supporting diversionary activities for them.  We will also be enforcing relevant powers and laws and providing High visibility policing at any ASB hotspots that are identified to us in the course of the year. On Tuesday 26th January the police / Safer Communities Torbay and other agencies visited Brixham College and presented a 'YOU SAID WE DID' event to approximately 80 pupils of various ages. This was very well received and informative regarding ASB issues. There are 2 problem Solving Plans (PSP's) in the St Marys / Town area. these have been created to combat current ASB issues. In april a PSP was set in the Chestnut Drive area to combat reports of ASB in and round the park near to Rowan Way. High visibility patrols will be increased in this area. PC THOMAS and the special constabulary conducted patrols in the area of Chestnut Drive re the Problem Solving Plan (PSP) on 7th April. On Saturday 26th June patrols were conducted in Milton Street Brixham at 2200 hours, 2330 hours and again at 0100 hours nothing to report.
