The technical bit :

Please Note: As from 20 May 2009 non crime incidents should no longer have been recorded on Crime Information System.

Therefore the incidents shown have been extracted from Operational Information System based on a 'Hate' closing category or secondary qualifier.

All data is based on the date the crime/incident was entered. No crimes have been excluded.

Crimes/incidents which have more than one type of hate crime indicator e.g. racist and homophobic have been shown against each type . They are only counted once in the overall totals.

Disablist, Faith & Transphobic incidents have only been separately recorded since April 2007.
