Hello
My name is Julie Dixon and I am the Diversity Officer for North Devon and Torridge. I work full time and various shifts to cover the needs of a diverse community. I have been a Diversity Officer for six years and before this I was in nursing. I work with a wide range of people and agencies to support and advice any person(s) who have been a victim of a Hate Crime.
My main duties are to monitor and encourage the reporting of hate incidents and crime and to provide advice and guidance to victims of such incidents. I also develop and maintain contact with minority groups to build trust and confidence and provide channels of communication between Police, partners and the communities. There are many ways in which I can provide this advice and guidance but it depends on the level of interaction and assistance a person would want.
